Day to Day

As the Senior Director, Digital Strategy, you will be the main point of contact for digital strategy in support of client goals, working closely with the larger digital organization that brings these strategies to life. You will be instrumental in developing strategies, planning, and ensuring proper implementation of digital marketing programs to meet and exceed client goals.

Requirements
  • 10 + years relevant work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing, mentoring, and nurturing a diverse team in a fast-paced organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of client business/current issues and marketplace trends/emerging trends
  • Experience with performance marketing, audience, and retargeting strategy,
  • Technical and strategic understanding of auction-based buying required, particularly in paid search, social and programmatic video/display
  • Exceptional analytical skills, and confidence acting on data and insights
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate persuasive and cohesive presentations and points-of-view that ultimately close the sale
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing/advertising, communications, or relevant field of study
Role Responsibilities
Client/Account Stewardship:
 
  • Provide expertise and leadership in performance marketing, across all digital and emerging channels
  • Be a champion for the brands you support and continually strive to find innovative solutions that build the brand
  • Foster client relationships and provide through strategic thought leadership, maintaining high level of service to all clients
  • Represent and promote the interests of Hearts & Science internally and externally
Digital Leadership:
  • Create and drive best-in-class cross-channel media strategies that deliver against client objectives within search, display, social and video channels
    • Led and develop digital audience strategies inclusive of utilizing the client’s 1st party data and 2nd and 3rd party data sources
  • Understand goals, address client needs, and communicate results and insights back to clients
  • Provide thought leadership in the areas of (marketing technology and platform innovation)
  • Partner with relevant internal teams to set KPIs and measurement framework, facilitate and manage forecasting, budgeting & pacing and optimization
Team Management
  • Articulate a clear and compelling vision to direct and maximize the team where all roles and responsibilities are well defined, understood and managed
  • Effectively motivate, lead, and train the team to maximize shared objectives
  • Provide regular insight and training to challenge and develop junior team members
Key Competencies:

Demonstrable, in-depth understanding or strong working knowledge of the following: Integrated media planning
    • Marketing technologies & tools (Web analytics, tag management, ad servers, attribution)
    • eCommerce and retail KPIs
    • Direct and brand marketing principles and strategies
    • Social, video, search retargeting, and other online advertising opportunities

Strong program management and organizational skills, with ability to drive multiple simultaneous efforts to fruition
 
  • A dynamic personality who can manage with a culture of “constructive conflict”
  • Confident in abilities and able to state the agency position on sound facts
  • Strong communicator and presenter, able to present and articulate persuasive and cohesive presentations and points-of-view; ability to distill critical ideas for non-digitally centric teams

Relationship builder, demonstrating an ability to listen and respond to a wide variety of constituencies from CMO to Assistant Brand Managers
 
  • Ability to foster an optimal environment for idea generation and creative innovation
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict, both internally among functions and externally with advertising agency partners and media partners
  • Trusted advisor to client counterparts that is seen as a vital part of their team; represent the voice of the client within Hearts & Science
  • Candid communicator who can organize, clarify, and communicate complex ideas quickly, succinctly, and accurately: to and from the client; to and from the creative agencies; involved; among the team
