Senior Product Designer (UX Research)

Our client, developer of software that allows the world's top architecture and construction firms the ability to use PDF creation, markup, editing, and collaboration on any device, is in search of a user experience research focused Senior Product Designer to join their collaborative team in Pasadena, CA.  

In this role you will have the opportunity to be the UX design owner for a high visibility product used all over the world.  You will define the overall user experience from end-to-end, including the micro interactions that bring the product to life. User research is an important component to the UX design process.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Creating UI designs for product features (low to high fidelity visual design mockups, wireframes, sketches, prototypes, and supporting design specifications and documentation)
  • Collaborating with the Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure user needs are able to be met
  • Conducting extensive user research, data analysis, and user testing with customers
  • Translating insights and findings into tangible solutions for the product
  • Directly contributing to ongoing research process improvements, including establishing best practices and setting standards for the approach and rigor the company applies to their research methods
  • Further developing tools and resources that will help build Design capability across the organization, as well as educating and empowering teams to adopt new processes, methods and mindsets
What you bring:
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a design related field
  • 5+ years’ experience designing user experiences for a range of responsive desktop and native mobile apps
  • An updated portfolio and/or case studies that show the correlation between user research and design decisions ​in depth
  • Exposure to Service Design methodologies and approaches
  • Experience designing for an end-to-end experience with multiple touch points 
  • Solid experience designing for complex user interfaces/workflows in and experience developing responsive design patterns and design systems 
  • An expertise in creating personas and mapping user needs, experiences, and customer journeys
  • Experience presenting and articulating design decisions, participating in peer design reviews, and incorporating that feedback in your work 
  • Experience prototyping in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (a plus)
  • Professional background at a Design agency (a plus)
